Fundaments

YHWH God the Father sent His Son to us to save us from the hopeless web of fruitlessness and inobedience. He gave us the Bible, in which He explains in detail how He means for everything to be. He furthermore gave us the Holy Spirit to lead us in the truth.

The eternal commandments that YHWH God, the Judge has given to His people in the Bible are meant to ensure that they can keep being spiritually healthy and fruitful. This is why during the Last Judgment He will also determine for each person whether he or she has been fruitful and obedient to His commandments. Because those are the criteria: He rewards you for the faith, the obedience, and the amount of fruit that you have produced in your life.

Seven Biblical feasts

In order to achieve the goal of "bearing fruit", YHWH God, the Father has given us his eternal commandments in the Bible. These bring order in our daily lives and are embedded in the context of seven Biblical feasts: one weekly feast and six annually returning feasts (Leviticus 23).

The seven Biblical feasts are the holy festivals of the heavenly Lord, which the followers of Yeshua the Messiah must celebrate together in honor of Him. This way, the people are united into one body of Yeshua the Messiah. If the Messianic Jews and the heathens who believe in Yeshua the Messiah do not celebrate the Biblical feasts in unity, they are separated from one another. But when they find each other because they celebrate the Biblical feasts together, then their unity is the decisive proof of the power and glory of Yeshua the Messiah.

Seven Biblical fundaments

Throughout the Bible, we read extensively about seven fundaments that YHWH God, the Father has linked to the seven Biblical feasts, so that we will grow spiritually and continue to remember the highlights in our spiritual lives. These seven Biblical fundaments with their associated feasts have the following meaning:

  1. Conversion — Passover
  2. Baptism (in water) — Feast of the Unleavened Bread
  3. Holy Spirit (baptism and fulfillment) — Feast of Weeks
  4. Evangelisation & deaconry — Feast of Trumpets
  5. Sanctification (holy life) — Day of Atonement
  6. Future (planning) — Feast of Tabernacles
  7. Family ministry (house feasts) — Sabbath

In these fundaments, we can identify three clear phases in our spiritual lives:

  1. We start as children of YHWH God, the Father (fundaments 1–3 with the three spring feasts)
  2. We then become sons and daughters (disciples) of YHWH God, the Father (fundaments 4–6 with the three autumn feasts)
  3. We ultimately live as spiritually mature people who bear frui; 30-, 60- or 100-fold (fundament 7 with the Sabbath)

In the handbook "House feasts" (Dutch), the above is explained in more detail and abundantly supported with Biblical citations.

Role of the House Feast Network

The time is almost ready to announce the great wedding feast. The Bridegroom (Yeshua the Messiah) returns to marry His bride (all who believe in Him; Matthew 25:1–13) at this great heavenly feast. This is what Yeshua the Messiah explains in a parable.

Ten virgins are asked to warmly invite everyone for the upcoming wedding ceremony, and then to joyfully welcome the Bridegroom with festive lights from oil lamps, dancing and singing. But the Bridegroom comes later than expected. He doesn't arrive until well into night.

The virgins are an image of the followers of Yeshua the Messiah. They have been asked to continually let their light shine. We read in the Bible that it isn't the Bridegroom who brings the oil, but that it is the responsibility of the virgins to provide for their own oil.

But where do they get enough oil to make sure that their fire doesn't go out?

Operating through the Spirit of YHWH God, the Father is not something you can borrow or buy at the very last minute. You are personally responsible for choosing whether or not you help with the preparations for the wedding feast. Yeshua the Messiah has commissioned you to use your burning oil lamp to inform your world that the Bridegroom is coming, and to make sure you receive Him cheerfully!

So get your hurricane lamp ready, hanging it to the doorpost of your house (Deuteronomy 6:1–9, Matthew 5:16).

The House Feast Network trades in lamp oil. We want to support you and your family with the preparations for the wedding feast in the broadest sense of the word. Make sure that you are ready when the Bridegroom arrives.
