Introduction

Bringing Yeshua the Messiah and people together

The first feast that YHWH God, the Father established, is the day of rest. In the Old Testament, this is known as the Sabbath. On this day, the priest assists people. He brings them before YHWH God, the Father of Yeshua the Messiah. For followers of Yeshua the Messiah, the principle is that everyone is a priest (1 Peter 2:5,9; Revelation 5:10; Hebrews 7).

Followers of Yeshua the Messiah have a responsibility to bring people to Him (2 Corinthians 5:17–21; Matthew 28:19; Proverbs 24:11). This is not just a task assigned to preachers and pastors, but to every heathen who believes in Yeshua the Messiah. In the first churches, all things were held in common, and people gathered at each other's houses. Friends, families and neighbors were invited; they ate together, and talked about faith. We call those gatherings "house feasts". Through this website, the House Feast Network offers any and all support a family needs to celebrate the house feasts on a weekly basis.

House feasts

How is a house feast celebrated? This is quite simple. It is explained in Acts 2:41–47. A group of believers who are true to the Bible (for example, a family) gathers on any night of the week for apostolic teaching (the TXT Fondue), the Lord's Supper, prayer, signs and wonders, deaconry, worship, and evangelization. An elder keeps watch that the evening remains Biblical. Those among them who are converted, are also baptized. Read more on how to start a house feast.

The book “House feasts” (2008) is a practical guide in which Peter E. Vlug explains all ingredients for a house feast step by step. The book costs € 9,50 and can be purchased here (in Dutch).
